Nolte: Ocasio-Cortez Adviser Caught Lying to Tucker Carlson

A “resolution” is not a “bill”.

You italicizing “bill” won’t make it any more of a “bill”.

Nor will you repeating yourself regarding the way the resolution is saved at the Congressional website.

The fact that a “RESOLUTION” is websaved under a “bills” title is irrelevant.

Carlson was right on regarding AOC and her “Green” plan.

You are the one deflecting here dvdjs.

Was he discussing what she introduced into Congress or not?

Carlson was discussing her “backgrounder” to her resolution.

And Hockett lied about it (“That’s not us”) and implied Carlson’s information was fake.

What was fake was AOC’s spokesman.

. . . CARLSON: I’m sorry to interrupt you. I just want to correct you. I just had - because this seemed like we were making news on this show. The “unwilling to work” thing was in her backgrounder, that has been absolutely confirmed.

HOCKETT: No, no. Definitely not.

CARLSON: You’re saying no.

HOCKETT: No, definitely not. Definitely not.

CARLSON: Okay, so NBC and lots of other news outlets are saying that that was in the backgrounder and you are saying it is fraudulent.

HOCKETT: No, that’s erroneous, right. Now, there might be new details now that you know about that I don’t because I have been doing media all day. But the story all day –

CARLSON: Yes, I think that was actually in the document. I read it as it came out.

HOCKETT: Well, it’s the wrong document, Tucker. If that was –

CARLSON: Well, yes, well, it’s definitely the wrong document.

HOCKETT: That’s not us. No, we certainly don’t believe in anything like that, right? . . .

President Trump mocks Democrats over their Green New Deal

Feb. 10, 2019 - 4:17 - Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her staffers have to walk back claims the document from her own website was fake.

Link.

IOW he was not talking about what she introduced in Congress.

Perhaps. But Carlson and Hocket were talking about what AOC intends. A bill is what she hopes might pass. Incrementalism is one of the hallmarks of authoritarian socialism.

dvdjs . . . .

IOW he was not talking about what she introduced in Congress.

I can see where you are trying to go with this dvdjs and it’s not going to work.

For everybody else. Tucker was talking about just exactly what he was talking about. The whole paradigm of this “Green New Deal” including just what he said.

Here is Tucker Carlson (see above transcript also posted for more context) . . .

CARLSON: I’m sorry to interrupt you. I just want to correct you. . . . The “unwilling to work” thing was in her backgrounder, that has been absolutely confirmed.

Now listen to the AOC spokesman . . .

HOCKETT: That’s not us. No, we certainly don’t believe in anything like that, right?

Then look what was on the AOC website . . .
(Look at what AOC had explicitly posted on her own Congressional website and later raced to take it down, and now say it was really a Twitter parody, etc. etc. AOC probably got a call from Nancy Pelosi telling her to disguise the statist program better to fool the voters.)

Economic security to all that are . . . . unwilling to work.

And draw your own conclusions.

.

WHY does this stuff get excused and even supported by the leftists?

Who knows.

Attempts to fool you?
They are blind?
They are gullible?
An honest mistake?
A misunderstanding?

I have my own ideas (and you will have to form yours too) but the deflections and excuses are not persuasive.

(Why don’t they just come out and say . . . “Yeah. AOC blew it on this point”?)

Why always the pedantic dance to try to re-direct your attention away from who these people really are?

.

dvdjs seems upset because he attempted to deflect the issue away from the AOC website statement towards the “bill” and nobody fell for his gambit.

So he not only still has his pawn, but lost his queen too.

.

For all others.

Don’t allow yourselves to be “checkmated” by
loser ideas such as a "Universal Basic Income"
which the statists have been more and more open about supporting (and will come with an
ever-expanding array of social engineering manipulations attached as prerequisites
by untrustworthy over-controlling politicians).

Dice is up to almost three hundred and fifty thousand views now on this AOC subject.

(Think about that the next time the leftists are attempting to fool you into thinking that Youtube and Facebook are giving CNN financial aid of millions upon millions of dollars
for the sole purpose of making money,
yet Anderson Cooper might have 1500 measly viewers on some of his social media “news shows” on a given day. I’ve shown you the clips of that embarassing paucity of viewers to Anderson Cooper’s shows before.)

Probably for the same reasons conservatives like Breitbart can’t be trusted. Bias.

This is not a “gotcha” on lying. There are at least three other explanations other than lying I can think of off the top of my head, but that assumes I have head to think off the top of, and am willing to use it to think.

Do you think pnewton, that Breitbart is making this up?

Do you trust at least the transcript of what they reported?

Do you distrust the context?

CARLSON: When do we ever pay people who are, quote, unwilling to work?

HOCKETT: We never would, right? And AOC [Ocasio-Cortez] has never said anything like that. I think you’re referring to some sort of document, I think some doctored document that somebody other than us has been circulating.

CARLSON : That was in the backgrounder from her office, is my understanding.

HOCKETT: No, no, she tweeted it out to laugh at it. If you look at her latest tweets, it seems that some Republicans have put it out there. I don’t know the details.

CARLSON: Thank you for correcting me.

.

You’ve seen I linked to the actual interview right pnewton?

.

Do you think AOC did not have this up on her website?

Do you really think “Republicans put it out there” only and this was never posted on her Congressional site?

Do you REALLY BELIEVE that . . . .

AOC [Ocasio-Cortez] has never said anything like that.

. . . when it was right up on her website?

.

Are you just venting about Breitbart here, or do you have a real objection about this story?

.

Something else?

What is your point?

They literally sent out an FAQ backgrounder document to NPR to roll out this “Green New Deal.” Then they claimed it was a fake document released by conservative Republicans. We know for a fact that the original FAQ backgrounder wasn’t a fake. It’s on NPR’s website for anyone to see. And if you go to the wayback machine they’ve archived the original web page that AOC had on her website which was scrubbed.

He’s a big political adviser for her. I do not for a second believe he was totally unaware of any of this. All signs point to these people lying to cover their rear ends after being savaged in the press.

Here is the link you shared in the other thread.

Can you a quote of this claim in whic the FAQ document sent to NPR was said to be a fake issued by conservative republicans?

I think the foundation problem here is that Breitbart has a credibility problem and tends to sensationalize things. I think it’s usually a good idea to not use them as a primary source of information.

That said, the interaction in question went like this.

There does exist a document that had been in circulation as a meme. But a document from AOC containing the language “unwilling to work” was real. The language was not part of the “Green New Deal” (GND) resolution but the document that was sent to NPR as an overview and had been present on AOC’s page. That document has sense been removed. But it existed.

The point is, they lied about the existence of this backgrounder. They did so in the interview with Tucker. They denied its existence and then they said that the original backgrounder was “erroneous.” Which raises the question how could it be erroneous if they were the ones who originally wrote it? And based on the things I’ve heard from AOC I find it hard to believe she isn’t on board with giving welfare to people who refuse to work.

Thank you for this summary.
This episode is another nice example of people buying into spun narrative without examining the facts.
Then buying into to embellished narrative-supporting ideas that go well beyond the actual facts

We could come to that summary. Could, if we ignored all the evidence which supports them lying about the backgrounder. In what world does it look good releasing a backgrounder which advocates for giving welfare to people who don’t want to work? They’re not stupid enough and daft enough to think that would be well received. So either an idealist working for AOC went rogue, or AOC genuinely believes that but lacks the courage of her own convictions to come out and stand by that belief

Can you a quote of this claim in whic the FAQ document sent to NPR was said to be a fake issued by conservative republicans?

I don’t even need to, they did that in the interview with Tucker. Which has already been posted in this thread
