President Obama and leading Democrats are pushing the House to vote on a controversial campaign-finance bill that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is blasting as "unconstitutional" and a "desperate attempt" by Democrats to grab a political advantage in the upcoming midterm elections.
Problem is they want to curtail the involvement of corporations in the politcal pocess but are not puting similar restrictions on Unions. Wonder why that is?
For instance they want to deny any company that got TARP funds from contributing to a campaign but as we saw with the GM baliout much of these funds went to bail out union Pension funds-yet again no restrictions on unions.
Sounds like more grandstanding as many Democrats (as well as Republicans) benefit from the very thing that they are pushing against.
