Officers say woman's prayer prevented sex assault

A woman’s loud praying stopped a man from sexually assaulting her, Fort Bend authorities said.

The woman told deputies she was attacked about 3 a.m. on Sept. 26 at her home on Rustic Chase near Stone Leaf in the Grand Mission subdivision, sheriff’s deputies said Thursday.

A male — believed to be 16 to 18 — grabbed the woman in the bedroom after she finished showering, she told authorities. He stopped her when she tried to grab for her cell phone.

When she began loudly praying, he fled, sheriff’s deputies said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Fort Bend County sheriff’s deputies at 713-341-4665.
