Is it a good idea to date if you are trying to be open to God’s call to religious life? I would think that if someone felt the call, then of course he/she should not date. But what about someone who does not feel the call to religious life but wants to be open to God’s promptings if He decides to call him/her to consecrated life?
If one wants to be open to religious life as well as the married life, one needs to have contact with both. Dating would be not only appropriate, but necessary.
