Orthodox rabbis approve of "Koogle", a new "kosher" search engine

Interesting to see how much work is involved in putting together a search engine that ultra-Orthodox Jews can use to ‘safely’ search the net.

tech.yahoo.com/news/nm/20090614/tc_nm/us_israel_internet_religion_5

Sad to see that it excludes pictures of half the human race, though…

Too bad I don’t know Hebrew :frowning:

something needed a long time ago…
I am very glad they preserve their values when adopting modern technology…

Its links to Israeli news and shopping sites also filter out items most ultra-Orthodox Israelis are forbidden by rabbis to have in their homes, such a television sets.

**
Question–why are computers permitted and TVs not?

After all, the CRT and picture tube are exactly the same technology.**

i can’t find a search engine at:

www.koogle.com

Per the article linked above, it’s located here:
koogle.co.il/
not “.com”

“The site…omits religiously objectionable material”

I wonder if it filters out everything Christian? like CAF
