Pakistan: 3236 women were killed during last 3 years: Rehman

ISLAMABAD—Advisor on Interior Rehman Malik told during the Question Hour that during last 3 years, 10534 cases were registered regarding crime against women and 1019 women were killed in the name of honor.

During the Question Hour in the National Assembly on Thursday, Rehman Malik said that a total of 3236 women were killed during years 2005-07, 1019 were killed under the cover of honor killing, 1931 were forcedly raped, acid was thrown on 53 women, 45 were burnt when their cooking stoves blown up and a large number of 4250 home maids were tortured including attempts to take their life. He added that during this period no woman was sentenced to death.
