Mohammad Asghar , a British citizen of Pakistani origin, was arrested in 2010 for having proclaimed himself a prophet. The man suffers from mental disorders, but the Court of First Instance rejected the request for clemency submitted by lawyers. Ashghar , 70, is a resident of Edinburgh. The Scottish Government has announced that it will do all in its power to solve the case.
I have been reading the story of Mohammad Asghar in the press. As indicated in the post he has a long history of mental illness. The manner is which this case is being handled in Pakistan is reflective of Islam. Currently Islam is a very intolerant religion. If there is not a “reformation” within Islam I fear that the Islam and the Christian West are headed for a collision.
