If you don’t find this story disturbing, please seek out a good therapist.

It highlights the problems of dealing with mentally ill adults. It was not a case where nothing was done. She had investigations with three different Indiana counties, and also the State of Texas. Her children were removed from her care, and she was found to have problems with drug abuse. Then she kidnapped two of her three children and killed them. She also admitted killing the neighbor who helped her children. She was also a person of interest in the murder of one of the fathers of her children years ago.

I do not have answers for this. I know that the mentally ill are more likely to be victims than perpetrators. The question is about how we protect both the mentally ill and society, whether or not they consent to getting help.
