Pediatricians group accused of ignoring data in endorsing 'gay marriage'

Washington D.C., Mar 23, 2013 / 04:08 pm (CNA).- The American Academy of Pediatrics’ recent support of “gay marriage” is drawing criticism from those who argue that it disregards evidence about the well-being of children of same-sex couples.
Maggie Gallagher, president of the Institute for Marriage and Public Policy, noted that there are “at least four reviews or studies in peer-reviewed literature that contest the claim that children do equally well with same-sex parents.”
None of these studies were “mentioned by the American Academy of Pediatricians in their endorsement of gay marriage,” she wrote for National Review Online.
On March 21, the American Academy of Pediatrics published a statement entitled “Promoting the Well-Being of Children Whose Parents Are Gay or Lesbian,” as well as a report supporting same-sex “marriage” as a family structure that is beneficial for children.

This does not surprise me. To me, they merely care about being "politically correct" not so much about the welfare of the children.

That’s because humanity has abandoned its rationality in favor of emotive arguments; mainly due to the fact that rationality denounces the majority of the “popular” lifestyles people chose to engage in today.

I really wish that Society would wake up and come to terms that God Does NOT change with the times!!!! So many people need prayers because they are lost and do not know who or what they are. We are ALL God's children whether we believe in Him or not!!! God Bless!!!

Come on, guys - don't you know that marriage is solely based around love, and parenthood is completely separate from marriage, so what's the big deal???

What I find to be the most ridiculous (and telling) aspect is the attack received by the Texas study. As soon as something comes out that isn't in favor of 'gay rights', it is deemed hateful, biased, anti-gay, illicit, or any other excuse to make it seem like only that specific study/person/group is against gay marriage, while everyone else in the world 'gets it'.

On a site note, driving to work this morning, I saw a car with the "I <3 <3 - Vote for Marriage Equality" bumper sticker. And I realized that the gay rights movement is following the path of the abortion movement. Since it won't be accepted under the current definition, change the definition. "Marriage isn't about complementing the other sex, parenthood, etc, its only about love, and any two people can be in love" has eerily similar reasoning to "It's not a baby until it is actually born, so how can it be a crime before then if it isn't even a person"
