Perpetual Prayer for Sanctity of Life

This is a community prayer thread for ALL forum members to offer our prayers for the Sanctity of Life, especially pre-birthed children.

As Paul exhorts, “Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (Thes 5:16-18)” and “always and for everything giving thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father (Eph 5:20).”

All members of the CAF community are invited and encouraged to pray with us whenever they wish. Please jump in!

For an explanation on how often one may post in Prayer Intentions, please see here.

Prayer to End Abortion

Lord God, I thank you today for the gift of my life,
And for the lives of all my brothers and sisters.
I know there is nothing that destroys more life than abortion,
Yet I rejoice that you have conquered death
by the Resurrection of Your Son.
I am ready to do my part in ending abortion.
Today I commit myself
Never to be silent,
Never to be passive,
Never to be forgetful of the unborn.
I commit myself to be active in the pro-life [witness] movement,
And never to stop defending life
Until all my brothers and sisters are protected,
And our nation once again becomes
A nation with liberty and justice
Not just for some, but for all,
Through Christ our Lord. Amen!

Blessed Mother, intercede for the sanctity of all life.

Hail Mary, full of grace, our Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen!

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Heavenly Father, eternal, changeless, and faithful Lord, we recognize that we are in need
of forgiveness as a nation, for turning our hearts away from you. Hear our prayer of
repentance Lord and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We praise you for your tender
mercies and your compassion that never fails.

Lord, it is only by Your grace that we can live lives that are just, and merciful.
May Your Holy Spirit enable us to walk humbly in Your presence and may
You be pleased to restore America so that a generation not yet born may
praise you. In the name of Christ Jesus, who has done great things for us, Amen.

Loving God,

Your son Jesus taught us to love and to pray through the beatitudes as a model for how we should live out our Christian lives. Please bless us, grant us wisdom, have mercy on us as we sometimes stray from the desires you have for us, and help us to pray feverishly and with great effect for this intention. Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. Bless these children of yours who never have the opportunity to live out their earthly lives, and bless those who grieve and mourn for them. Please send your loving Holy Spirit to soften and change the hardened hearts of so many people who do not understand and appreciate the evil that is abortion. Please guide and lead the political leaders of our country so the rights and dignity of our unborn will be respected and will be preserved by our laws and practices.

We pray in the name of your beloved son, our Lord Jesus, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever.

Amen.

Praying daily for life to prevail.

Prayer:
Jesus, open my eyes to your presence
in the life of every child. Open my heart
to joy in the birth of every child, a birth
that reflects the joy of your own birth
in Bethlehem.
As you shared life in the womb of Mary,
so now send your protection upon every
child still in the womb, and grant to
their mothers the strength and joy that
comes from welcoming the gift of life.
We pray through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Prayer:
Gracious God, help us to appreciate the
wonder and beauty of Your creation.
Help us proclaim on behalf of every
one of our fellow human beings, “I am
fearfully and wonderfully made.”
May the knowledge that we are intimately
known by You shape our lives and actions. Amen.

PATER NOSTER,
qui es in caelis,
sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Adveniat regnum tuum.
Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie,
et dimitte nobis debita nostra
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem,
sed libera nos a malo. Amen.

Scripture:
For at one time you were darkness, but
now you are light in the Lord. Walk as
children of light (for the fruit of light is
found in all that is good and right and
true), and try to discern what is pleasing to
the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful
works of darkness, but instead expose
them. - Ephesians 5:8-11

Prayer:
Shine Jesus, shine in us and through us into
the darkness and upon those struggling in
the darkness that they might be drawn to
the Light of Life. Amen.
