Personal Prayer Request

#1

Hello my friends. I’m posting this request to ask if you would pray for me. I’m suffering from an addiction to pain medication, and the withdrawals are absolutely horrible. I ask that you pray for me as I’m going through this suffering. What I’m worried about the most is that my the most important day of life is coming up in two weeks, my Baptism. And I can’t have this addiction ruin it for me, or get in the way. Thank you all for your support and prayers, God Bless you all friends.

Reff, I ask the Lord to help you overcome this and to get through the horrible effects of withdrawal safely. I feel for you. I’ll keep you in my prayers and Masses. I’m sorry you’re suffering :grouphug:

I ask Venerable Matthew Talbot to join his prayers to ours.

His title is a step on the road to his canonisation, a process which needs evidence of a physical miracle in order to be successful.
From age 12 to age 28, Venerable Matthew Talbot was addicted to alcohol. He overcame this cold turkey and grew to become a saintly man. He also gave up his tobacco addiction.
From the time he made the decision to fight his addictions, Matthew attended Mass every daily and prayed often. He fasted, did penance, and gave financial support to various religious organizations. I ask him to join with our prayers for you.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen.

Praying already…

“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”
“Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.”

I recommend the Divine Mercy Chaplet!
Congrats on your baptism!

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Dear Lord, shield Reff with your most precious blood… hide him in your wounds so no enemy can approach and prevent him from being baptized.

St. Michael the Archangel, all the angels and saints, and all the holy souls in purgatory please pray for our brother.

Reff, I hope you have recovered and that the Lord protects you from all future harm; and for your deep commitment and faithfulness in the Catholic Faith.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible,
look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us,
that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent,
but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is love and mercy itself.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now, and at the hour of our death. Amen

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle;
be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray.
And do you, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God,
cast into hell satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

May your guardian angel and your patron saints pray for you.
