Peter's Testimony on the Kingdom & Salvation Assurance

… we have been born anew to a living hope … to an inheritance which is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed. … for a little while you many have to suffer various trials, so that the genuineness of your faith, … may redound to praise and glory and honor … [1 Peter 1:3-6 ]

As the outcome of your faith you obtain the salvation of your souls 1 Peter 1:9 ]

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance … be holy yourselves in all your conduct … 1 Peter 1:14-16 ]

Through Christ you have confidence in God … having purified your souls by your obedience … You have been born anew, not of perishable seed but of imperishable … 1 Peter 1:21-23 ]

… he who believes in Christ will not be put to shame. 1 Peter 2:6 ]

… live as servants of God. Honor all men, love the Brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the Emperor. 1 Peter 2:16-17 ]

Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example that you should follow in his steps. 1 Peter 2:21 ]

… the imperishable jewel of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious 1 Peter 3:4 ]

For the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and his ears are open to their prayer. Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for who is right ? 1 Peter 3:12-13]

… always be prepared to make a defense … keep your conscience clear. 1 Peter 3:15-16 ]

Baptism … saves you … as an appeal to God for a clear conscience. 1 Peter 3:21 ]

…for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin … live by the will of God. [1 Peter 4:1-2 ]

For this is why the Gospel was preached even to the dead, that though judged in the flesh like men, they might live in the spirit like God. 1 Peter 4:6 ]

Keep sane and sober in your prayers … hold unfailingly your love for one another … practice hospitality … employ gifts for one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace … 1 Peter 4:7-10 ]

But, rejoice in so far as you share Christ’s sufferings … 1 Peter 4:14-15 ]

…let those who suffer according to God’s will do right and entrust their souls to a faithful creator. 1 Peter 4:19 ]

… be subject to the elders … God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves … that in due time he may exhalt you. Cast all your anxieties on him, for he cares for you. Be sober, be watchful … resist the Devil. … and after you have suffered alittle while … God will restore, establish, and strengthen you. 1 Peter 5:5-10 ]

Thus, if one has Genuine Faith, is Reborn of H.S., is Obedient, is a suffering Servant/Disciple, is a Righeous Zealot, has a clear Conscience, is ever prayerful and unfailing in love, is a giver of gifts, is subject to elders & Church, is Baptised, and resists sin & devil … Peter teaches we can have S.A. and see the Kingdom.

So … rejoice you Catholics ! Those Protestants don’t have anything you need, and may lack a few graces you have
Don’t let them ever again claim the high ground for themselves.
Not when our Pope has spoken so confidently and admirably.

Second Peter gives a few more items to consider … which only further solidifies Peter’s teaching in his first book, of these concepts to the Church.
