I am studying about the limits and values of science, revelation, and philosophy. I have a good understanding of science’s limits and power. I have thoughts about the limits of revelation. What I am really looking for at this time is some recommendations on material about the limitations of philosophy and the underpinnings of it (much as science assumes that the world is rational and behaves constantly).
Maybe try this:
Look for texts on metaphysics, then.
I know that, I was hoping for specific recommendations.
Jacques Maritain’s Introduction to Philosophy contains an excellent discussion of the justification for, and limits of, philosophy.
You may also enjoy Etienne Gilson’s From Aristotle to Darwin and Back Again, which examines the epistemological scope of philosophy.
Thanks for the suggestion.
