Matthew 24:28:
“For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.”

Dom Bernard Orchard in A Catholic Commentary on Holy Scripture (pg. 895) says it’s “a sentence in proverb-form reminiscent of Job 39:30. It possibly means that the final coming of the Son of Man will leave none untouched (Buzy) but similar language is used by the prophets to describe divine judgment on Jerusalem (Jer 7:33 f. etc) in which case the ‘carcase’ is Jerusalem where the birds of prey will have work to do.”
