Please help! Phone showing CAF only in landscape proportions

I navigated to CAF and the writing was infinitesimal! I had been on landscape mode to read a PDF, but then switched back to Portrait only, but the CAF proportions are still coming out as if it were in landscape.

I have done the usual: checked for settings, signed out and in again, turned the browser off and on again, restarted the phone… to no avail.

This is actually the third problem I have had with the phone since they forcefully updated it in the middle of the night: it occasionally changes how long it will stay on without use from 5 minutes to 30 seconds (!), and changed my library app settings so it would show up only in landscape.

I use my phone for going online about 210% of a the time: this is not going to work for me!!!

Thanks for any help

Annie, what type of phone is it?

Oh, sorry, a Samsung, the least expensive, Android version 9 for its OS. Thank you!

Oh sorry. I’m not familiar with that type.

What could be happening is that your screen is locked. Do you have something that looks like this icon somewhere?

Ack, it is also happening when I do a search, so it is affecting some, but not all sites!

Anyway, yes, I have that button, which allows me to switch from being able to go from portrait to landscape by turning the device, or locking the phone into the orientation it is currently in.
I have fiddled allot with it trying to get it to realize it has been changed.

Thank you!

Is it working?

When I realized it was doing this on more than one site, I tried other apps, which are acting normally. So I downloaded another browser and it too is behaving normally.

Updating my original browser did not help, but at least I now know where the problem is and even have a workaround

Thanks so much for your help
