Please pray for a few upcoming surgeries

#1

I am having surgery on my knee this next Thursday, the 12th. My father will soon, before the end of the year, have surgery to repair a torn ligament in his rotator cuff, and my brother-in-law will be having back surgery, again, most likely by the end of the year. It seems as if my family is falling apart…

St. Luke, please pray for guidance for these surgeons, as they use their God-given gifts for healing. Oh, Blessed Theotokos, wrap your comforting mantle around all of us and enable us to experience the peace of God as we anxiously await surgery and subsequent physical therapy.

Heal ur Children

Today has been especially bad with the pain. I usually am able to offer it up but today is difficult.

Another thing, my dad is in pretty poor health, and he will have to be put out longer for his surgery, so his is more dangerous. Please pray that his health problems won’t be an impediment to his surgery and subsequent recovery.

Praying hard.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

#6

Praying hard…

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive
those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil.
Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou among women,and
blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now, and
at the hour of our death.
Amen

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, as is and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell,
lead all souls to heaven, especially, those in most need of Your Mercy.
Amen

Remember, O Most Gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to Thy protection,
implored Thy help or sought Thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
I fly unto Thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother;
to Thee do I come, before thee I kneel, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in Thy clemency, hear and answer me.
Amen.

Prayers for you and your family. I totally understand the concern about anesthesia; it freaks me out and I’m only 42 and in good health. (OTOH, apparently redheads are harder to anesthetize and consequently they need to use more anesthesia or we sometimes come out of it during surgery. Eek.) But I know it usually turns out fine, scary as it can be.

Prayers, too, for your current discomfort. :frowning:

Peace,

Francesca

Amen!
It sounds quite dangerous to be a member of your family at present!
And you all have far more than your share of pain.
I’ll be keeping you, your Dad, and your brother-in-law in my prayers and Masses

I wanted to thank everyone for their constant prayers and intercessions! You’re right, Trishie, it is pretty dangerous being related to me right now… It seems as if there are only a few relatives who have been relatively (pun intended… unscathed with health issues.

Francesca, my fear of anesthesia wouldn’t be so bad if my mom hadn’t suggested I read a book really soon before my first surgery where I was knocked out (age 17, had my tonsils taken out). This book was about someone who was paralyzed properly, but wasn’t knocked out. She, with her really strange and sick sense of humor, though that was a good thing for me to read at that time. That’s probably why I have waited so long to have this knee operated on, because I knew that I’m going to have to be put under anesthesia.

It’s already almost 1 am here, and I can’t sleep… So, prayers, please, that I won’t pass out from exhaustion before my 11:15 am check in time? I hope to make a morning Mass, too.

Again, thanks for all of the prayers!!!

#14

Aaaaaaaahhhh!! I don’t blame you for your trepidation and I never want to read that book. In fact, I’m pretending that can’t happen even as I type here.

I missed your check-in time, unfortunately, out here on the West Coast, but am praying that all is going/has gone splendidly.

Peace,

Francesca

I’m back home (and have been so for the past couple of hours). I’m in quite a bit of pain, and it’s really tough to walk around, but the pain is only from surgery, and not the knee cap subluxating (or dislocation) pain. I hopefully should be getting around better, hopefully by Sunday. I don’t want to miss Mass on Sunday.

#16

Continuing prayers for your full recovery …

:gopray:

#17

Welcome back! Glad things went well and at least you know this pain is a “good,” finite pain! (And hopefully you have good pain meds!)

Prayers for your swift recovery!

Peace,

Francesca

ETA: I am apparently feeling very! exclamatory! today!
