Please pray for Alan who has terminal cancer

Please pray for Alan who has been a true friend of our family and has generously helped us when we were struggling. He has recently been diagnosed with esophageal cancer, had part of his esophagus removed- almost resulting in his death in the hospital- and has received a further diagnosis of cancer in the lymph glands. Please pray for him as he begins his chemotherapy. He is fading fast and seems to be losing the will to live by giving away his valuable possessions. My dad said recently of his best friend: “He is the best man I’ve ever known” so I ask of you to also include my father in your prayers in this difficult time. We are hoping and praying for a miracle! :knight2:

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_1DcuTtFMS7M/TKkhT6APSGI/AAAAAAAAC9U/4Q1agP1TYdU/s640/379_rosary1.jpg

Heavenly Father we ask Your overwhelming mercy for Alan is this uncomfortable and distressing illness. Please grant all that divine mercy can give to Alan and to those who love him

Offered the canticle at Evening Prayer for your family friend Alan and your father. :gopray:

I’ll also bring it to adoration tomorrow.

*Let us give thanks to the Father *
for having made you worthy
to share the lot of the saints *
in light.

He rescued us *
from the power of darkness
and brought us *
into the kingdom of his beloved Son.
Through him we have redemption, *
the forgiveness of our sins.

He is the image of the invisible God, *
the first-born of all creatures.
In him everything in heaven and on earth was created, *
things visible and invisible.

All were created through him; *
all were created for him.
He is before all else that is. *
In him everything continues in being.

It is he who is head of the body, the church! *
he who is the beginning,
the first-born of the dead, *
so that primacy may be his in everything.

It pleased God to make absolute fullness reside in him *
and, by means of him, to reconcile everything in his person,
both on earth and in the heavens, *
making peace through the blood of his cross.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son *
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, *
and will be for ever. Amen.

Lord, if by our prayers you see fit to the Father’s merciful will to miraculously heal Alan with your remedying touch, please touch Alan that he might be free of all cancerous and all afflictions physical and spiritual. Guide the medical staff working with him with wise angels. Mary, pray with us. Amen. :gopray2:

Praying hard for Alan and your father.

Praying for Alan and your father.

I am praying.

Lord, look upon Alan with eyes of mercy, may your healing hand rest upon him, may your life-giving powers flow into every cell of his body and into the depths of his soul, cleansing, purifying, restoring him to wholeness and strength for service in your Kingdom. Amen.

O great St. Peregrine, you have been called “The Mighty,” “The Wonder-Worker,” because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you.

For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fibre of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more. You were favoured with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you.
(Pause here and silently recall the names of the sick for whom you are praying)
Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy.
Amen.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen.

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now,
and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen
