Please pray for Anna and Anthony

#1

Anna has stage 4 cancer in her sinuses. She is bedridden and in terrible pain.

Her 17 year old son Anthony is suddenly having to learn how to keep house, work, pay bills, and cope with the fact that he will be completely alone when his mother dies - they are the last of their family.

This is right out of no where; they only found out a few days ago what was wrong with Anna - I guess it started off as a headache last week some time, and progressed very, very quickly.

On top of all this, Anthony is in the middle of his diploma exams for Grade 12 first semester, including his provincials.

They are getting a lot of help from their parish, which is really nice to see. The ladies of the CWL are going over every day to help Anthony with the housekeeping, and to do whatever they can for Anna.

Praying for Anna to get the peace she needs as she prepares to meet our Lord. And for her to be eased of her pain.

Special prayers for Anthony as he looses his dear Mom and has to face the world alone.

God Bless the CWL ladies that are helping this family.

Loving God,

We pray for the hearts and minds of this dear family who is undergoing an extremely difficult test in their lives. Please comfort Anna and give her peace and strength as the Lord Jesus prepares a place for her. Please help her to find the courage to stay strong in faith through the pain and worry about her dear son. Please give Anthony wisdom and maturity beyond his years to manage these multiple demands while ensuring he is there and present to his mother in her time of great need and pain. We pray for Anthony as he continues to care for his mother and continues his school work. Thanks be to God for the love and caring of their parish community. Everything is possible through faith, hope, and love in the Lord and wishing this family the ability to maintain the knowledge of the love God has for them while Anna carries her burdens and shares her suffering with the Lord.

We pray for this family in name of you son Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Amen.

I’m rather horrified at the pain that must be involved. I used to get sinusitus and the whole head feels terrible.

Jesus please help Anna to cope with the diagnosis and what it means for her and her family, her son.
Please help Anthony who is dealing with the shock of his mother’s danger, along with his studies and the housework. Please may he find comfort in helping his mother…but please also don’t allow his future to be compromised by impact on his study and exams this year.

Jesus, please bless the women who are helping Anna and Anthony, and let their kindness help this household and Anthony’s future enormously.

Thank You, Jesus

God bless you too. Thanks for asking our prayers for this family.

Praying for Anna and Anthony

Just an update - Anna is going for radical radiation and chemotherapy in the early part of this week. The doctors have not given up hope, yet!

And Anthony made it through his exams. We won’t know his results until later this week, but he is continuing his schooling, and it seems as though he passed everything, anyway.

Please keep praying.

UPDATE: Anna is in the hospital right now. The tumour is growing, and somehow it is also moving around. They have been unable to start treatment because of the fact that it is moving around - however, they mean to start chemotherapy on Tuesday, and radiation therapy as soon as possible. She hopes to be able to stay in the hospital throughout her treatment, because she is unable to care for herself at home.

Anthony has moved in with a school friend, and is being looked after at their place.

O Holy Child Jesus, who shed Your blessings on whoever invokes Your name, look kindly on us who kneel humbly before Your holy Image, and hear our prayers. We commend to Your mercy the many poor and needy people who trust in Your Divine Heart. Lay Your all powerful hand upon them and help them in their needs. Lay Your hand upon the sick, to cure them and sanctify their suffering; upon those in distress, to console them; upon sinners, to draw them into the light of your divine grace; upon all those who, stricken with grief and suffering, turn trustingly to You for loving help. Lay Your hand also upon all of us and give us Your blessing. O little King, grant the treasures of Your divine mercy to all the world, and keep us now and always in the grace of your love! Amen.
