Please pray for Fr. Jeremiah who has had degenerative peripheral neuropathy for several years

#1

My Brothers & Sisters in Christ:

Please pray for Fr. Jeremiah, a Roman Catholic priest who has painful degenerative peripheral neuropathy (primarily involving his arms). The neuropathy has limited his ability to function as a priest, forcing him to use EMHE to distribute the Lord’s Body and Blood as doing so ruins his ability to function for the rest of the day (including being able to finish the Mass). :frowning:

I don’t know how much he’s told his congregation, but he’s told me that he’s seen plenty of doctors about this, and that none have been able to help him or alleviate the condition. And, I can tell by looking at him that he’s in a lot of pain, and that pain probably never really leaves him.

Please pray for Fr. Jeremiah that the Lord would heal him of this degenerative peripheral neuropathy, That the Lord would heal him of whatever is causing the peripheral neuropathy, That the Lord would grant him Hope, Joy and Peace and that the Lord would replace his fear with faith and that the Lord would prosper his ministry. :crossrc:

Thank You.

Your Brother and Servant in Christ, Michael

Jesus could you please give help and healing to Father Jeremiah.

Mother, please pray for this priest!..

May each moment of his life—even those of drudgery, routine, loneliness, or weary discomfort—be filled with the loveliness of your smile! May his labour and his leisure be pleasing in God’s sight, equally drawing souls to our Redeemer. May time that appears to be wasted, be filled with the beauty of moments spent asleep in the arms of the loving Mother, so please the eternal Father!

In illness, sadness, loneliness, stress, weariness, temptation and disappointment—as in his joys and satisfactions—let him always rejoice, for in all these things he cooperates in the life and ministry of your Son! Then shall he give glory to God, joy to the angels and saints, and inspiration everyone he encounters on earth! Thus shall he live as instrument of divine love and grace, exemplifying the joyous sanctity of one who is whole in his creative humanity, bearing a great harvest (whether or not visible) for the Kingdom of God.

Mother, to become holy one must be truly, uniquely oneself in delightful liberty of spirit, in creative compliance with God’s image and dream. One must lovingly, faithfully and creatively obey the commandments of God, the laws and doctrines of the Church, and the commitments of one’s vocation. Holiness is not attained in moulding oneself to a fearful or stereotyped set of codes. It is in allowing God from moment to moment to utter within ones being, the sacredness of ones individual nature in the freedom of obedience and the self-renunciation of generous service of others according to apostolate.

In such humility, obedience and integrity consists the most sincere praise of creature to his Creator, for he is God-centred, giving way to true self in God! You, purest and most pleasing of all God’s creatures, Mother, will you keep each priest, each soul, ever in these truths. Please pray that he is faithfully responsive to the inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Preserve him in his vocation and in the promises that he has freely professed before God and Church.

Obtain through your maternal love that thepriest is drawn ever more deeply in love with God—ever more delightfully, more richly, more intimately and trustfully so—until he is possessed by the Holy Spirit. Obtain that as he falls deeper in love with God, he is absorbed ever more profoundly into divine vision of souls, so that he sees each person, however seemingly lowly, as favourite and most beloved.

Mother, intercede he has courage to allow God to lead him beyond interior and external attachments, beyond earthly knowledge and effort, past the intrinsic smallness of vision which atrophies many a soul’s sanctity, into the ‘darkness’ which is divine light. Then obtain for him the commitment and spiritual insight to see and act with God even as he lives on earth.

You, who are Virgin of virgins, please pray also for his chastity. He has consecrated to God all that he is—soul, mind, heart and body. He has relinquished the gift of sharing in creation of new lives in a loving partnership with its attendant responsibilities and rewards, in order to devote his life to God’s people, serving each person as beloved kin. Through Sacrament, prayer and generous self-giving, keep Your Priest faithful to his celibacy, focussing his faculties to see God everywhere and in everyone.

Mother, where the priest walks so does your divine Son. When he stands at the altar, there stands your Son. This is his basic commitment. He is Christ amongst us. It is in your power to ensure that he does not betray this divine trust, Queen of Heaven. The requirements of his commitment are profound, with numerous complexities compounded by others’ needs and demands. Grant him therefore, your powerful, vigilant patronage.

Mother, please intercede for priest, for individuals in his care and for every person in this world. Protect and lead them to your beloved Son in the fullness of Spirit and truth. Let them turn trustingly to the merciful Love of God so that they may face divine Justice with peace. Mother, thank you for your prayer! Please pray for priests and souls at every heartbeat of my life.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.

Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
