Please pray for me in my spiritual war

#1

Hi.

Please can I request your urgent prayers, becuse I desperately need them?

As some of you know, over the previous few months I have been battling with wicked and blasphemous thoughts about our Lady, which I feel the devil is giving me for various reasons. Since this time last week I have been engaged in a very fierce spiritual war with the devil, who is trying to set our Lady up as an object of lust in my eyes. He is constantly bombarding me with thoughts so disgsting they should not be repeated - and I mean constantly (probably about 1 every 2 minutes, on average, for the last week.) the only exception being when I say my daily prayers. I am fighing with everybit of my strength to resist them and have trained myself to say a hail Mary when these thoughts occur, so a lot of hail Mary's are being said! The Devil is also trying to confuse me by making me wonder whether I am to blame for this - as far as I know I have not consened to any of these thoughts. The voice of Our Lady and Lord says I have not sinned gravely and am doing pennance for sinners by battling through this, but another voice says I have sinned, and that the first voice is that of the devil, not the holy powers.

Please pray for me. I am finding this battle exhausting and upsetting, and nead the Lord's grace.

Thanks, and God bless.

St Michael, the Archangel, defend us in this day of battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou,
O Prince of the most heavenly host, by the power of God cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl through the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

My prayers are with you, fireproofpoodle. I think you are right when you find that you are doing spiritual battle, but the possibility exists that you, too, could also be suffering from OCD, and medicine can help you finally get rid of those blasphemous thoughts. People with OCD suffer from extremely blasphemous thoughts and thoughts that keep intruding like yours do. You know you are not consenting, so keep fighting and be brave...but if it ever gets too much for you, I pray you can see a doctor who knows about OCD so he can prescribe a medicine to help get rid of the persistant thoughts ...or he could give you Coginitive Therapy if you don't want medicine. Actually, what I pray for is that you find a good, holy spiritual director/confessor (you might not even have OCD) so he can help keep you from being scrupulous and will help you keep sane and spiritually strong. Scrupulosity is a religious form of OCD. So if you find that you are telling yourself you've sinned when you really haven't, then you are suffering from scrupulosity, a religious form of OCD. If you find that it is the devil telling you these false things, then I pray you keep strong in your spiritual battle and never believe him...ever! May God guide and protect you. Amen.

Lord, I know that advanced souls who are being purified in a Dark Night of the Senses and Dark Night of the Spirit also experience extremely blasphemous thoughts and the scrupulosity that accompanies them. Please keep this good soul strong and help him persevere during his purification. He seems to be going through a Dark Night. Help him be guided by the light of faith. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us of our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Oh Glorious Prince of the heavenly host, Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in the battle and fearful warfare that we are waging against the principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against the evil spirits. Come thou to the assistance of men, whom Almighty God created immortal, making them in His own image and likeness and redeeming them at a great price from the tyranny of Satan. Fight this day the battle of the Lord with thy legions of holy Angels, even as of old thou didst fight against Lucifer, the leader of the proud spirits and all his rebel angels, who were powerless to stand against thee, neither was their place found any more in heaven. And that great dragon was cast forth, the ancient serpent, who is called the devil and satan, who seduces the whole world; and he was cast forth upon Earth, and his angels were sent with him.

But behold! the ancient enemy of mankind and a murderer from the beginning has been fiercely aroused. Changing himself into an angel of light, he goes about with the whole multitude of the wicked spirits to invade the earth and blot out the Name of God and of His Christ, to plunder, to slay, and to consign to eternal damnation the souls that have been destined for a crown of everlasting life. This wicked serpent, like an unclean torrent, pours into men of depraved minds and corrupt hearts the poison of his malice, the spirit of lying, impiety and blasphemy, and the deadly breath of impurity and every form of vice and iniquity.

Be favorable to Thy Church, the Bride of the Lamb without spot, whose enemies have filled to overflowing with gall and inebriated with wormwood. They have laid profane hands upon Her most sacred treasures. Where the See of the most blessed Peter and the Chair of Truth has been constituted as a light to the nations, there they have placed a throne of their abomination and impiety; so that with the Pastor struck, they may prevail to disperse the flock.

Therefore, most invincible Leader, be with the people of God against this spiritual wickedness and bring about victory. Thou art venerated by Holy Church as Her guard and patron; Thou art glorified as our defender against the impious powers of earth and of hell. Unto thee the Lord hath handed over the souls of the redeemed to be placed in happiness above. Entreat the God of peace, to obliterate satan beneath our feet, lest he prevail further to hold men captive, and to injure the Church. Offer our prayers in the sight of the Most High, so that the mercy of the Lord may swiftly overtake us, and apprehend the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and satan, and send him bound into the abyss, so that he may seduce the nations no more. Henceforth having been confided to thy escort and protection, by the authority of Holy Mother Church, do undertake to repel the infestations of diabolical deceit in the Name of Jesus Christ, Our God and Lord.

Behold the Cross of the Lord, depart from us, our adversaries.
The Lion of the tribe of Juda, root of David, has conquered.
Let Thy mercy be upon us Lord.
As much as we hope in Thee.
O Lord, hear my prayer.
And let my cry come unto Thee.

Let us pray
O God, and Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ, we invoke Thy Holy Name, and we humbly implore Thy clemency so that, through the intercession of Mary, the Immaculate ever-Virgin Mother of God, of blessed Michael the Archangel, of blessed Joseph, the Spouse of the same blessed Virgin, of the blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and of all the Saints, Thou may deign to offer us aid against satan, and all the other unclean spirits, who wander through the world to injure the human race and to destroy souls. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Eternal God,
in whom mercy is endless
and the treasury of compassion
- inexhaustible,
look kindly upon us
and increase Your mercy in us,
that in difficult moments
we might not despair
nor become despondent,
but with great confidence
submit ourselves to Your holy will,
which is Love and Mercy itself.

Amen.

My prayers are certainly with you. I’ll say a novena to Our Lady for you. You should try researching how many of the saints combated temptations and blasphemous thoughts. Such saints are St. Gemma Galgani, St. Pio, and St. Faustina. St. Faustina went through these things every day for years. Christ told her that these things would happen, but not to be afraid “for I am with you.” Pax!

 1. The Hymn Te Splendor

O Jesu, lifespring of the soul,
The Father’s power, and glory bright!
Thee with the angels we extol;
From Thee they draw their life and light.

Thy thousand thousand hosts are spread
Embattled o‘er the azure sky;
But Michael bears Thy standard dread,
And lifts the mighty cries on high.

He in that sign the rebel powers
Did with their dragon prince expel;
And hurl’d them from the heaven’s high towers
Down like a thunderbolt to hell.

Grant us with Michael still, O Lord,
Against the Prince of Pride to fight;
So may a crown be our reward,
Before the Lamb’s pure throne of light.

To God the Father glory be,
And to his sole-begotten Son;
The same, O Holy Ghost, to Thee,
While everlasting ages run. Amen.

Most glorious Prince, Michael the Archangel, be thou mindful of us; here, and in all places, pray for us to the Son of God most high.

I wilt sing praises to Thee, my God, before the Angels. I will adore Thee in Thy holy temple, and praise Thy Name.

Let us pray.
O God, who in the dispensation of Thy providence dost admirably dispose the ministry of angels and of men; mercifully grant that the Holy Angels, who ever minister before Thy throne in heaven, may be the protectors also of our life on earth. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thank you. I am seeing a psychiatrist (who happens to be, conveniantly, a secular Franciscan monk), who believes that I may be scrupulous. The battle continues, but I had a long talk with mother Mary, who promised me that her and her Son are with me and remided me of her tenderness, so I am not afraid. Thank you very much to all of you and may God bless you!
