Please Pray for me (Teenage sins)

Hello,
I have been fighting a batte with the Devil recently and feel horrible about it. Specifically, masturbation and pornography. These sins I have commited I have been commiting for 5ish months. I have prayed to God, gone to church nearly every week, prayed to saints, wrote goals (ie. "don’t masturbate or look up porn for 1 week), etc. Nothing has worked. I am going through puberty, so there is a growth in hormones, making me more likely to commit these sins, though I want to be as close to God as possible. I know this is getting in the way of our relationship and I intend to go to confession as soon as possible, but have just not found the time to do so, even though I have asked my parents to take me. I am preparing for my sacrament of Conformation and want to be as close to God as possible. I considered myself one of the more holy boys in my grade, but now I am doubting that. I want to live with God in eternal Heaven, but this is getting in the way. Please suggest any ideas you have and please pray for me. God bless you!

GET TO CONFESSION and keep trying to overcome these sins. This is NOT something you should be doing and this should NOT continue, especially with you coming up on your Confirmation.

Hormones have been the ruin of many a holy boy…and girl.
Keep trying to resist, especially the porn. Hormones don’t make you grab porn.
If you keep falling down, just keep getting up. I was young once, I know.

Try to find healthy alternatives. For example, sift through this forum, or watch a christian youtuber. Read articles on conversions. Try to focus on God.
and I agree with the other posters, you should get to confession asap.
I know things feel kinda garbage now, but one day you’ll overcome this.

I will be praying. God Bless.

Not sure if I’d call this place “healthy” all the time
Maybe try Church Pop, that site has fun stuff

We are all praying for you. You’ve got this. Pray to St Dominic Savio. He is a great saint, and one of your patrons, I guarantee you!

Matthew 5:27-30 27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away; it is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away; it is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to go into hell.

Matthew 6:22-23 22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light; 23 but if your eye is unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

Job 31:1 “I have made a covenant with my eyes; how then could I look upon a virgin?
Psalm 11:4 The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD’s throne is in heaven. His eyes behold, his gaze examines humankind.

1 Corinthians 11:27-31 27 Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be answerable for the body and blood of the Lord. 28 Examine yourselves, and only then eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For all who eat and drink[h] without discerning the body,[i] eat and drink judgment against themselves. 30 For this reason many of you are weak and ill, and some have died.[j] 31 But if we judged ourselves, we would not be judged. 32 But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined[k] so that we may not be condemned along with the world.

Couple of suggestions:

Divert your attention to other things. Read a good book, go for a walk, run, lift weights, etc. Do you have any hobbies that could divert your attention?
Pray hard, especially at difficult times.
If you’re getting your porn on the internet, then stay away from the internet.
Get to confession as often as you need to.
Finally, be patient with yourself. If you’ve been doing this for five months, then it seems that you have acquired the habit of these sins. It may take time for you to overcome them, and you might fail. If you do, get back to confession. Above all do not give up on yourself. That is what Satan wants you to do.

I will keep you in my prayers.

My advice is to give up the porn right away. The way I see it, masturbation is mostly about pleasure, and controlling and quitting that is enough of a struggle by itself. Porn is a different class of evil, associating pleasure with fantasies of disordered behaviors, power structures, and personality types that leave a lasting imprint on your mind. The less you see, the healthier you will be. When you get totally off it, those images can start to fade.

I am praying for you. May the Holy Spirit assist and guide you always toward faith and virtue.

Praying to the Holy Spirit to give you guidance, direction, strength, fortitude & wisdom to overcome your temptations.

I’ll pray for you. I suggest praying the Saint Michael Prayer and doing all you can to replace the sins with virtue.

Whenever you feel strongly tempted to sin, repeat many times: "Jesus have mercy! Mary be my hope!"
You can and you will conquer this. You have the power of the Holy Trinity within you.
You are in my prayers. God bless!

If your parents will not take you to Confession, ask you Confirmation instructor or your Godparent (if you are a young man, your Godfather) to take you.

When you look at porn, pray for the people, they are someone’s child, sibling, spouse. Respect them and care for their souls.

LORD, please provide guardians and people, whom YOU know can help persons with such ‘singularly’ struggles so that these singular persons can have a good, worthy support system that can truly assist them in their desire to live in the ways they desire. In Your Only Begotten Son’s Name, Jesus Christ, I ask. Amen
