Please pray for my elderly neighbor

#1

My husband found my next door elderly neighbor on the ground this morning and he is seriously injured. He fell off a 6 foot ladder and landed on his cement porch steps and sidewalk. I saw just from looking, a compound fracture of his lower leg, his jaw was busted, his teeth were knocked out, he appeared to have a broken shoulder, and was looking rather shocky–I think he might have some internal injuries. But he was conscious and talking. It was horrible. The leg was the worst fracture I have ever seen. He was calling my name and I didn’t hear him, but my husband just happened to go outside and saw him on the ground yelling my name. Please pray for him. He was so pitiful and in so much pain. Thank you for your prayers.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

Update on my neighbor: they took him to surgery and placed an external fixator on his leg, and later in the week will take him back to do more work on it . His shoulder is broken, no news on what they are going to do with that yet. His jaw was not broken, but the entire inside of his bottom lip was sliced open down to the bottom of the gum all the way across and his front teeth were knocked out and broken. No internal injuries, praise God, but his ribs are bruised. My husband looked carefully for any teeth when he cleaned up the blood but found none.

I just thank God he survived that fall–I don’t know how he did it. He fell on cement. His leg is very bad and will probably take a long time to heal and a few surgeries. He is in a lot of pain and his face and shoulder are very swollen. Thank you all for your prayers, I am sure they are helping and that God was with this man. His three little dogs miss him, I think, and wouldn’t eat when my husband went to feed them, and when he let them out, they kept looking for him, poor things, and didn’t bark and run around the yard as usual. He does have family, but his youngest daughter, who lives with him, just left this morning for Florida and I am not sure when she will be getting back in. His other daughter is here in town. I will post an update, later, but he still needs prayers. Thank you again.

Lord God, we become so frail in our earthly physical bodies as we age, that we eagerly await our resurrection in You at the eschaton. Lord, please, if You so will it, help this elderly man’s body to heal - guide the actions of his caretakers and doctors as they attempt to restore his bodily health. Through Jesus Christ, Our Lord, I pray. Amen.

Poor dear man. Just think if had been our Dads! It’s too awful to think of, such serious and painful injuries. Jesus please relieve his pain and distress. Please help him in his recovery and rehabilitation. It takes so much effort to recover from a simple break and to get all the movement back. Please give all possible help, comfort and recovery to this poor battered man
