Please pray for my husband.

I ask for prayers for my husband. He has been struggling to find a job following a health scare in early January of this year. He is depressed, anxious and short- tempered. He is in his mid 50’s and worries that no one will hire him because of his age. His dependency on alcohol continues causing him to become more negative, angry and bitter towards his family who love him.

+++May God grant him graces to receive help as an alcoholic.+++

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

I can Truly understand what you are both coming from… your both in a dark place…
I myself getting older… 60 next year… and found it impossible to get a job… but found a job as a school cleaner… and it is great… get him to try looking there… its an easy great job…and good money…must try every avenue you can… what makes it even harder for you is the drink… why people let it control them i could never understand…
praying for you… good luck.

Lord, in Your loving mercy, please give gradsw’s husband the determination and strength to overcome his drinking issues, and to cultivate a more hopeful and therefore a kinder response to life and relationships.
Please help him to find a healthy way forward with his home life, and hopefully, with regard to find meaningful employment.
Please console and give strength and new hope to his wife and family, and help them to know the best ways to help their loved one through his difficulties.

gradsw, welcome to Catholic Answers. May God abundantly bless you and your family.
Warm regards,
Trishie

“Star of the stormy sea, Mary Most Immaculate, the weak vessel of my soul is sinking. The waters of tribulation are drowning me. Save me, for I am perishing!”
Amen

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death
Amen.

St. Jude, pray for him!

God, grant the husband of gradsw2003, the serenity to accept the things he cannot change. The courage to change the things he can. And the wisdom to know the difference. Amen

Eternal God , in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhastible ,
look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us ,
that in difficult moments we might not despair
nor become despondent , but with great confidence ,
submit ourselves to Your Holy Will ,
which is love and mercy itself . Amen

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

O Jesus, I come to implore Your mercy on behalf of those who misuse alcohol and drugs. Have pity on them for their sakes and that of their loved ones. I unite this prayer with
Your sufferings when vinegar and gall were given You to drink. Give them the grace to admit their need, to seek the help by which this vice may be overcome. In Your Name, O Jesus, and for the glory of Your Precious Blood, hear our prayers and grant our petitions. Amen

Amen
