please Pray for my marriage

My husband has be threatening to leave me for almost 2 months now. He claims he is looking for a place to sublet but will not stay with friends just to relieve the tension in the house. We sleep in separate rooms and he goes out all the time until the all hours of the morning. He tells me over and over again how he’s “done” and how he’s irreparable. I asked him last night if he is committed to getting a divorce and he said ‘yes’. But then back peddled and said he’s not going to commit to something he’s not 100 % sure on. He blames me for EVERYTHING and claims his only part in this mess was being passive and suppressing his feelings for too long. He says he’ll only go to couples counseling to learn how to co-parent but not to save the marriage because he know for sure he wants out for now. He is seeing his own therapist, as am I. We have been together for 13 years and married for 4 of them. We have a son who will turn 1 this Sunday. Please pray that my husband realizes that marriage is a commitment, and with that commitment comes working thru issues not running from them. Pray that he comes around and will try to work on it so that we can have the marriage we both want. For the sake of my son, I desperately want this marriage to work. Please pray for me, my son Oliver, my husband Michael and most of all that our marriage can overcome this obstacle. I need all the prayers i can get. thank you!

and the example for all husbands and fathers.

Praying for you, I’m so sorry this is happening. Lord, please intervene for this family, please enlighten Michael to the loving wife he has, and how she is willing to work on things with him. Please don’t allow another couple to go through the difficulty of divorce. In Jesus’ name, we pray this…amen. :crossrc:

Into Your hands, Lord…
If your husband suppressed his real feelings this was an injustice and a disrespect, because as marriage partners we owe each other the respect of discussing our problems. We owe each other the respect of allowing the other person the opportunity to help to redress any problems, so no, you’re not the only one at fault. For one partner to refrain from discuss his uneasiness or dissatisfaction respectfully and with hope of negociation, it means that the other partner is being treated as less than a person in some way, and certainly not being treated with love.

Perhaps the Lord can help Michael to face that this is his real part in helping to bring about the damage to your marriage. It isn’t only what we do, but also what we don’t do that ruins a marriage. By his behaviour he has already left the marriage so we ask Your help if it is to be saved and made wholesome.

Lord, regardless of Michael’s purpose in going to marriage counselling, please grant him grace to go with his wife, in hope that not only his agenda, but Your wishes can be served, and he can learn what his responsibility in the failure is, and what he can do to work for a good, reciprocal, healthy marriage.

May the Lord have mercy on your husband, you, and your son.

Psalm 25

In you, Lord my God,
I put my trust.
I trust in you;
do not let me be put to shame,
nor let my enemies triumph over me.

No one who hopes in you
will ever be put to shame,
but shame will come on those
who are treacherous without cause.

Show me your ways, Lord,
teach me your paths.
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.

Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love,
for they are from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth
and my rebellious ways;
according to your love remember me,
for you, Lord, are good.

Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them his way.
All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful
toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.

For the sake of your name, Lord,
forgive my iniquity, though it is great.

Who, then, are those who fear the Lord?
He will instruct them in the ways they should choose.
They will spend their days in prosperity,
and their descendants will inherit the land.
The Lord confides in those who fear him;
he makes his covenant known to them.

My eyes are ever on the Lord,
for only he will release my feet from the snare.
Turn to me and be gracious to me,
for I am lonely and afflicted.
Relieve the troubles of my heart
and free me from my anguish.

Look on my affliction and my distress
and take away all my sins.
See how numerous are my enemies
and how fiercely they hate me!
Guard my life and rescue me;
do not let me be put to shame,
for I take refuge in you.

May integrity and uprightness protect me,
because my hope, Lord is in you.

Praying for you and your husband…

Lord please help this family to survive this nightmare

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible,
look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us,
that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent,
but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is love and mercy itself

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
