Please pray that my depression would lift

#1

Hi everyone. I am experiencing some doubts and some pretty severe depression. Please pray that my depression would lift and that the doubts would go away.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail, Mary! Full of grace,
The Lord is with thee;
Blessed are thou among women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now, and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Hail Holy Queen,
mother of mercy,
our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve,
to thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, Most Gracious Advocate,
thine eyes of mercy upon us,
and after this our exile
show unto us
the Blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O Clement, O Loving, O Sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God,
that we may be worthy of the promises of Christ.
Amen.

*Lord Jesus Christ, You have willed that St. Dymphna should be invoked by thousands of clients as the patroness of nervous and mental problems and have brought it about that her interest in these patients should be an inspiration to and an ideal of charity throughout the world. Grant that, through the prayers of this youthful martyr of purity, those who suffer thusly everywhere on earth may be helped and consoled. We recommend to You in particular, Holly.

Be pleased to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna and of Your Blessed Mother. Give those whom we recommend the patience to bear with their affliction and resignation to do Your divine will. Give them the consolation they need and especially the healing and cure they so much desire, if it be Your will. Through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.*

Invoke the intercessions of St. Tikhon of Zadonsk, who was a great saint and wonderworker and spiritual guide and writer, with a great gift of comforting the sorrowful, yet suffered greatly from what was then called “involutional melancholia”, aka clinical depression.

And remember, if you suffer from clinical depression, that this is a PHYSICAL DISEASE! It’s not a moral or spiritual failing. If there is medicine you can take for it, do so and thank God for the provision He has made for you.

My dear friend. I have suffered from depression as you have. God has helped me so much with my counselling at Catholic Charities. Know you are loved and I will keep you in my prayers. If at all possible, check with a dr…I don’t even have insurance but my mom’s doctor was gracious enough (thank you God) to write an RX for me when my husband died. You are loved…not just by God…but by all of us here. Sending a hug your way.:console:

Lord, please help Holly when she gets depressed. When her depression is bad, may she turn to you and your mother in solemn prayer and pick up a book about you both to read and take comfort in. Maybe uniting herself to you and Mary through reading could assist her and could lift her depression a little more when it strikes. Her heart will be united to yours and Mary’s and will be occupied with you both a little more. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer. Amen.
