Charlemagne is famous for leading his armies against the Muslims and pagans.


He is considered by many in Europe, including the EU itself, to be the “Father of Europeans”. He united most of Western Europe for the first time since th era of the Roman Empire and laid the foundations for both France and Germany, the two most important European nations historically speaking.


I think he did call for someone to do something about the persecuted Christians in the Middle East.
