Pope Urged to Follow up Imam Musa al-Sadr Case

During the meeting which was held on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Sadr’s disappearance in Libya, Imam Musa al-Sadr’s sister Rabab Sadr presented a letter to the leader of the Roman Catholic Church and asked him to look into the case of Sadr’s disappearance.

Imam Sadr and two of his companions were on an official visit to Libya in 1978 but they never returned from that country.

I’ve never heard anything about this. Just posting, it’s very curious. I do see some other stories on this. It looks like another story says the “kidnapping” may have occurred in 1987 (see below). Perhaps more news and detail will emerge.

I may have seen him in the news actually prior.
