Porn App Store now on Android Cellphones

According to reports the MiKandi top brass consist of former employees of Microsoft, T-Mobile, Comverse, and adult industry veterans. These executives promise little to no censorship when it comes to "controversial" apps, except in cases when the law is being broken.

The developer kit is currently invite-only, but MiKandi plans on an e-mail marketing campaign to get the word out. MiKandi representatives say it has plans to port its app to BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices as well as Java-compatible mobile phones in early 2010.

This is one of these in-passing-news-stories that turn out to be huge.

If they get a foot in the door (for lack of a cruder analogy) this could flip Apple's no porn policy and open yet another venue to the porn industry.

I doubt Apple would change their policy. They could become the "Wal-Mart", this is, the "family friendly" retailer and make billions more. Those who want more could easily jail-break their iPhones and iPod Touches and thereby get their porn fix. Staying the course would make iPhone the cellphone selection for Christians.

Who, exactly, is being forced to buy these porn apps?

Most people don’t go for Microsoft products because they’re better; they buy because they’re affordable. “Family friendly” or not; I’m not going to spend $1500 on an Apple laptop when I can buy one with Windows for a fraction of that. I’d be willing to bet that most would stay with Microsoft for that reason alone.
