Porn stars, implants, and conversion

I’m not entirely sure whether I’m serious about this question or not. I’m just kicking it around. Because I’m bored, and I’ve wondered this for a long time, and I wonder what you guys think.

Um, do you foresee someone who has gotten implants entering the Church with said implants still being a part of them? Especially if they’re prominent? Probably a stupid question, but…

My mind has difficulty thinking of, for example, Chelsea Charms (a lady whose breasts - each - are twice the size of her head) as a nun, or even as a parishioner. God, grant me the grace to desire it, even if she does drop all those cup sizes, but… would it be possible to be a faithful Catholic even while still having an incredible amount of stuff to strut?

Intellectually, my mind says “yes”. But the rest of me isn’t sure.

And if this gets me banned, it’s been a nice run and I hope to see you in Heaven. Peace!

Some women are, umm, naturally endowed. Do we ask them to do anything more than dress modestly?

The Church doesn’t require vasectomized men who convert/revert to have a reversal, nor even to refrain from sexual relations. Only to confess the sin.

I would think the Church would not require the ex-porn star to have reversal surgery. Just to dress and practice modesty and chastity like the rest of us.

I would imagine that if she felt drawn to Christ and decided to chamge her thoughts, choices and ways, that she would naturally want to downsize her, shall we say, attributes. She probably got those huge implants to stand out, although I must say i have no idea who she is, not being an expert in pornographic actresses either, but i know a few of them. The term “porn star” is generally used too loosely, i think. Unless she’s well-known, is in lots of movies and earns ungodly amounts of money, otherwise she’s simply a porn actress, not star.

From personal experience it takes a lot, i mean a lot to get banned, the mods and people here are incredibly patient and forgiving (hats off to them). This is my second incarnation on these boards. Hope to see you in Heaven, too!

The world may drive us to change our bodies; the Church does not.

After all, we do not pack our human body as such for Heaven; we each receive the “spiritual body” (pneumatikon soma).

ICXC NIKA!

I disagree with the term “porn star” as it implies glamour or legitimacy to the “industry” and removes the real gravity of it.
If a woman (who works in the sex industry or otherwise) had huge implants and she became a Catholic ,or generally became more aware about her decision making processes and realised having them to try to receive love, validation or attention from men isn’t healthy, she could decide to get them removed.
Getting implants removed isn’t cheap either though.
I’m quite confident the Catholic Church wouldn’t ask her to remove them, just dress in a way that doesn’t draw attention to them-:Eg very low fitting tops.

well, maybe not on normal circumstances like something that still looks natural., but on others, i think they will do it by their own choice.

If she had a true conversion of heart, I imagine she would no longer feel comfortable with such unnaturally large implants…though no, I don’t think the Church would REQUIRE her to do anything about it per se. That is a private prudential judgment which she would have to discuss with her priest, ideally in the confessional.

As an aside, does the average man find the idea of breasts THAT large attractive? I am a 27 year old man who is getting married to a beautiful woman in the near future… and the idea of breasts that unnaturally massive absolutely disgusts me on so many levels.

It’s the Internet. Rule 34 is, if it exists, there is porn of it. I myself don’t find it disgusting - though it is incredibly irrational, unhealthy, and vain - but I’ve heard many men and women say the opposite.

On the other hand, one has to wonder what the priorities of such a person are as would have a back-breaking (literally) amount of silicone (or other liquids) stuffed into an artificial cavity in one’s chest. Oneself doubts it is usually an holy one. And in the end I would prefer an holy woman to a sexually attractive one.

I don’t know what I would do if I happened to find a woman who was both. It would feel like a conflict of interests to me, but… eh.

Why?

It’s a hypothetical. I think you’re fine!

I imagine it’s in the same boat (although perhaps less serious) as sterilization. A reversal is not really required. Although I could see why they would want to if their conversion was serious.
