Pray for My Brother

#1

Please pray for my brother, John, who is suffering from severe alcohol addiction. He also suffers from complete denial as how severe his problem is, despite some mild liver damage. He just does not care and wants to do what he wants to do. As I was once where he is now, I understand his thoughts and warped reasonings, to a degree.

Pray for my elderly mother, Betty, as well, for perserverence and faith, which is often tested to a great degree, in this matter. It makes her intensely anxious as to the concern for the state of his bodily health and state of his soul, but I reminder her to remember to consider God’s mercy and grace in this, and accept His Will.

God Bless all of you.

Dear Lord, help John to come to know You and your saving, healing love. Get him somehow to a meeting where he can come to discover the truth of his addiction and how bad it really is. Help Betty to find courage and strength to keep loving and being faithful to You and her son. May she be abandoned to Your most merciful will and may she always keep her confidence in You. Amen.

#5

Lord have mercy on John, help him to see his need for assistance and to look up to You for help.
Please be with his mother Betty in a very special way during this difficult situation.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent,
but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is love and mercy itself
