Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death–including those of us that serve in our countries’ militaries, those of us deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan and other far-off places, and for their wives and children and other friends and loved ones that they are separated from.

Amen.

Dear Lord, please watch over this young man as he leaves to serve his country. Strengthen his faith, Lord, that he may walk with You during his deployment. And keep his family safe and strong during this time. In Jesus name we pray.

Prayer to Our Lady of Perpetual Help**
O Mother of Perpetual Help,
grant that we may ever invoke thy most powerful name,
which is the safeguard of the living
and the salvation of the dying.
O Purest Mary, O Sweetest Mary,
let thy name henceforth be ever on our lips.
Delay not, O Blessed Lady,
to help us whenever we call on thee,
for, in all our needs, in all our temptations
we shall never cease to call on thee,
ever repeating thy sacred name, Mary, Mary.

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen

Lord, I pray for this person’s son who will be going to Iraq and for his family. May they be under your protection in a special way and find themselves together again happy and safe in six months time. Bless them and keep them close to You. Keep them faithful to Your commands and may they never wander off from the fold - but only grow closer and more intimate with You. Amen.

Praying for your son and his family and for all servicemen and women and their families.

Almighty and eternal God,
those who take refuge in you will be glad
and forever will shout for joy.
Protect these soldiers as they discharge their duties.
Protect them with the shield of your strength
and keep them safe from all evil and harm.
May the power of your love enable them to return home
in safety, that with all who love them,
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
