Pray for our deceased priests

#1

This diocese has already buried two priests this year, and this week we mourn two more retired priests, Rev. Benedicto Ortiz and Rev. Jerry Felion. For those who know this diocese "retired priest" simply means a priest who does not have a full time pastoral assignment but still works 40 hours or more caring for souls until his health no longer permits. I am sure they are still caring for souls in eternity. Thou art a priest forever.

Yepp I know the feeling. we lost 4 this past year and our priest is close to retiring (83) and we don't have any to replace him so in his caring for the church he is still holding up saying Mass at 3 parishes. It is a heartbreaker.

We just lost our Dean, Monsignor Father Joseph Kern. For a retired priest, this little old man worked harder than most people at his age and health level. A hero for sure and I'm sure that he just as busy remembering us in Heaven.
