Prayer for a Friend's Sister

#1

Kay, a friend of mine, asked me to post a prayer request for her sister, Edie. Edie was in a car accident a few months ago and the upper part of her spine was basically crushed. The insurance companies have finally decided she can have surgery. It’s scheduled for tomorrow morning at 8:30 am CT. Please pray for a safe surgery, good results and speedy healing. Also, please keep Kay in your prayers as she travels to be with her sister.
Thanks.

Safe travels for Kay; wisdom for the doctors and nurses, may God guide their hands; and
successful surgery and healing for Edie.

Our Father Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary,
full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Father, we your humble servants come to you now and ask that you lay your healing hand on Edie. Guide her doctors and care givers so that she receives the utmost in care. Hold her up spiritually and physically as she goes through this difficult surgery. Hold up her family and friends so that they can bring her strength. Place you angels around her Father. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN

#4

FF I’m midful of your past prayer intentions which remain in my prayers.
Father, in Jesus’ name please make Edie’s surgery successful. Have mercy, and please give Edie a return to strength and mobility, and to, please, a pain-free future.

FF I’ll remember Edie and her family and you at Mass in the morning.

FF because you’re so humble, even though I’ve told you previously, you really don’t get it that any time I see one of your posts asking prayer for sick others, I always include prayer for you! :slight_smile: That we haven’t corresponded for a while doesn’t alter the respect and warmth I have for you, and nor have I lost awareness of your personal needs. But you’re very humble about yourself, so, a reminder! :slight_smile:

Jesus please help Edie to displace enoght of the pain to be comfortable.
Thank You that the surgery went well.
Please help Edie to recover well enough that pain and disability from the accident are absolutely minimal.

(Trishie, I DO appreciate your prayers! Just saying thankyou. I like to say thanks when someone does something nice for me. And I wish I were as humble as you seem to think, but that’s not one of my strong suits, I’m afraid. :smiley: Ok. No more discussion about THAT!)

Hail Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and Blessed is the Fruit of Thy Womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Lord God, please, if You so will it, allow Edie’s surgery to go well for her crushed spine. Thank You, Lord God, for moving her insurance company to approve the procedure - in this country, so many of us are uninsured for even basic medical care, and we rely, therefore, on You for our physical as well as our spiritual well-being. Lord God, please guide the actions of Edie’s doctors and caretakers, and console their family during the recovery process. Through Jesus Christ, Our Lord, I pray. Amen.
