Prayer for the repose of Fr. Don

Please give prayers for the repose of Father Don, an associate diocesan pastor who passed away on November 13, 2011 after a series of illnesses.

Eternal rest grant unto Fr. Don, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.

I pray for Fr. Don’s repose…

*Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

A Prayer for a Deceased Priest

O God, Thou didst raise Thy servant, Father Don, to the sacred priesthood of Jesus Christ, according to the Order of Melchisedech, giving him the sublime power to offer the Eternal Sacrifice, to bring the Body and Blood of Thy Son Jesus Christ down upon the altar, and to absolve the sins of men in Thine own Holy Name. We beseech Thee to reward his faithfulness and to forget his faults, admitting him speedily into Thy Holy Presence, there to enjoy forever the recompense of his labors. This we ask through Jesus Christ Thy Son, our Lord. Amen.

Almighty Father, eternal God,
hear our prayers for Your son Father Don whom You have called from this life to Yourself. Grant him light, happiness, and peace.
Let him pass in safety through the gates of death,
and live forever with all Your saints in the light You promised to Abraham and to all his descendants in faith.
Guard him from all harm and on that great day of resurrection and reward raise him up with all Your saints.
Pardon his sins and give him eternal life in Your kingdom.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Eternal rest grant unto him Oh Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon him…
May he rest in peace.

In paradisum deducant te Angeli; in tuo adventu suscipiant te martyres, et perducant te in civitatem sanctam Ierusalem. Chorus angelorum te suscipiat, et cum Lazaro quondam paupere æternam habeas requiem.

May angels lead you into paradise; upon your arrival, may the martyrs receive you and lead you to the holy city of Jerusalem. May the ranks of angels receive you, and with Lazarus, the poor man, may you have eternal rest.

Eternal rest grant unto him Oh Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon him…
May he rest in peace.

Heavenly Father, have mercy on Fr. Don, and guide his soul to heaven through Our Lord Jesus Christ, that he may worship You, thank You, and praise You for Your Glory now and in eternity. Amen.
