O my Jesus, let all of those who are rich live simple lives and give their wealth over to the poor, who own all the treasures in this world in light of their poverty, their share in Your poverty. Give the rich men and women of this world Yourself, for You are the true Treasure of souls, and fill them with a desire to make You their one and only Treasure in this life, so that, in possessing You, they may have all and wish for nothing more, and, in light of this, give their possessions to the needy and serve You in them, for they are You in disguise. And because You are in the poor and needy, let the world love them more than gold and silver, bronze and ivory, and all the treasures in the world, for these souls are precious gems, and have a greater share in Your suffering, and so deserve a greater love, for Your sake. O my Jesus, may the rich of this world comfort You in them, now and until the end of time!
I warn all the brothers and sisters and exhort them not to condemn or look down on people whom they see wearing soft or gaudy clothes and enjoying luxuries in food or drink; each one should rather condemn and despise themselves.
Saint Francis of Assisi

**O Blessed Saint Joseph,
faithful guardian and protector of virgins,
to whom God entrusted Jesus and Mary,
I implore you by the love which you did hear them,
to preserve me from every defilement of soul and body,
that I may always serve them in holiness and purity of love.
