Prayer from Mother Teresa's Poem

Mother Teresa’s Poem
engraved on the wall of her home for children in Calcutta, India

*People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you have anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway*.

Amen to this beautiful prayer/poem.

There are lots of words to describe the many challenges I am facing with my job and it brought me to tears this morning ~ I refused to shed them over a job though…the bottom line is I will not bore you with them.

THANK YOU for this poem. This fits my situation so well and I am copying them and pasting them in my cubby to remind me that I am called to be above it all.

God bless you and Praise God for using you and this message to speak to me today!
Love and prayers being sent your way!!
