Prayer Rally for the Republic

Pray loud and proud for this great nation.

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Prayers and Intercessions

Let us pray humbly to Jesus, who does not abandon those who hope in him:
– Jesus our God, hear us.

Christ our Lord, fill your Church with your light:
make her preach you to the nations, the deep mystery of our religion made visible in the flesh.
– Jesus our God, hear us.

Help the priests and ministers of the Church:
as they have preached to others, so may they themselves be faithful in your service.
– Jesus our God, hear us.

By shedding your blood you brought peace to the world:
keep us free from the sin of discord and the scourge of war.
– Jesus our God, hear us.

Praying hard for this great nation.

Lord, please bless this suffering country of ours and make her a great nation again. Teach her the value of keeping the 10 Commandments and the value of following the teachings of your Son. Inspire men and women to be pure and chaste and to instill the importance of purity and chastity in their children, and help families pray together for peace and for all their temporal and spiritual needs. May our government leaders be moved by the Holy Spirit to enact laws that are licit and may they abolish laws that are illicit, such as laws that allow citizens to murder our innocents in their mothers’ wombs. Protect us from aggressors and help us always fight for human rights; give us the graces we need to defend the right to life of the unborn. Women and blacks were without rights at one time - may babies in their mothers’ wombs soon obtain legal rights too. Please move our government leaders to hear the call and seek to protect the unborn. The blood of these innocent children cries out to You and offends You very much. Make us a true beacon of light for all the other nations to emulate. Make us a leader in national purity and the right to life and don’t let us crumble under the weight of sins we shouldn’t be committing. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer. Amen.
