Prayer Request for Bishop Kaising who passed Saturday

1936 - 2007
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death, Saturday, of Bishop John J. Kaising, auxiliary bishop of this Archdiocese. He had just returned to DC after spending Christmas ministering to our service men and women in Korea. He was ordained a priest in 1962 and a bishop in 2000. He served as an active duty priest-chaplain in the US Army from 1969 through 1998.
Funeral arrangments are pending.
Please join us in prayer for this man of God who, upon the occasion of his episcopal ordination, published his thoughts for all: "…I have called you friends because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father [Jn 15:15].

May he rest in peace.

Incline, O Lord,
Thine ear to our prayers,
in which we humbly beseech Thy mercy,
that Thou wouldst place the soul of Thy servant,
which Thou hast caused to depart from this world,
into the region of peace and light;
and unite in the fellowship of Thy Saints.
Through Christ our Lord,

Joining in prayer for Bishop Kaising.

May he rest in peace.

For You are the Resurrection, the Life, and Repose of Your servant +Bishop Kaising, departed this life, O Christ our God; and to You do we send up glory with Your Eternal Father and Your All-holy, Good and Life-creating Spirit; both now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen

Eternal rest grant unto them him, O Lord.
And may perpetual light shine upon them him.

May the souls of the faithfully departed through
the mercy of God rest in peace.
