In recent months the possibility of euthanasia being legalised here in the UK has gotten one step closer. Although it would take many years for any law to be passed the topic has had a much bigger impact on bodies such as the Law Lords which greatly worries me. I have a 93 year old grandfather suffering with bowel cancer, if this wereleagalised what might a recommendation be to him?!
I sincerely hope that common sense will prevail so that the law will not change and that more time and money will be invested into treating those with severe illnesses. Our palliative care schemes aren’t terrible, but they could do with improvement. Why not focus our efforts onto the protection of a human life than its destruction?
Hail Mary full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, mother of God,
pray for us, sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us all our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory
for ever and ever.
