Prayers for a Safe Journey

#1

Please keep my daughter Christina and her husband Joey in your prayers that they have a safe journey back to Texas.

They are leaving tomorrow and will drive through from California to Texas with no lay over. It worries me that they won’t stay in a motel for at least a few hours to rest. They are also taking 6 dogs. Two of them are from Joey’s mother who no longer wants them.

Thanks you all for your prayers. I am such a worrier and try to put my doubts in God’s hands but seem to be fearful. Maybe it is natural for a mother to always worry, but I think I am worst than most.

Hi Barnadette,

Taking six dogs seems like challenge enough in itself…perhaps Christina and Joey fear that a motel wouldn’t take them with six dogs!
I pray though that they will remain alert to their mental states, and take whatever rest is possible to refresh themselves.
When my husband and I drive 1000 miles to see our boys, we stop every two hours. We take a large ‘hotpot’ full of boiling water and stop at parks and rest stops and make ourselves instant coffeez, then drive on. We take our own food in a cooler. Whatever way they do it, God grant they will ‘refresh and revive’. Naturally you have some anxiety. We weren’t always so wise…but I ask the Lord to give you rest, and them, alert wisdom.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible,
look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us,
that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent,
but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is love and mercy itself

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Thank you all for your prayers. Christina and her husband arrived safely in Texas this morning.

It is such a relief and I know that all of your prayers helped them to be safe.
