Prayers for healing and forgiveness

#1

Please pray with me for someone who after so many years is still feeling pain from trauma inflicted by clergy and church staff. This person is having a difficult time accepting the humanity of priests and church staff. Complete forgiveness is difficult and cynicism is very easily aroused.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen.

Hail Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and Blessed is the Fruit of Thy Womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Lord Jesus, Have Mercy upon Your Church. At times, even those entrusted with spreading Your message and being an earthly presence of You falter, and lead Your people astray. Console those who may be hurt or turned away by the actions of errant, uncharitable, or even criminal religious or lay Church workers, and remind them of the power of Your Grace and how it supersedes all things. Through Christ, Our Lord, I pray. Amen.

Dear Lord, please heal this injured soul suffering from the trauma of the priests and church staff who have hurt him/her. Grant this soul the special graces not to harbor grudges or fuel his/her injured emotions with sinful anger, as this will only hurt him/her further. Let this person know it is not a sin to be angry and that it is only sinful when we feed it deliberately and nurture it hatefully. Let this soul let his/her unforgiving feelings pass everytime they come over him/her and truly forgive these people by praying for their souls: that they be able to obtain heaven. Let this soul communicate his/her hurt and anger in a sincere way to these people, or at least let this soul pray for them: that your will be done in their lives and that they too be saved. You know how very, very injurious it is to be hurt by those people who are in our church families, those we wish to be most like Christ for us. Let this soul accept the shortcomings of these pepole without suffering any more from these people again in the future. I ask this all in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
