Prayers for my sister, Debbie

#1

My sister, Debbie, was just told today by her husband of 16 years that he wants a divorce. He told her that he doesn’t love her anymore. She is very upset to say the least for they also have two small boys, 6 and 3 years old. Can you please keep her in your prayers? I have already offered ways of helping to save their marriage and she said loud and clear, NO, for her husband made his decision and she said he was different and cold and mean. He just served her with the paperwork and told her to sign them and that he did not love her anymore. They just celebrated 16 years of marriage on May 10th. He showed no signs that he wanted out of the marriage or that he didn’t love her anymore. She was surprised by this all.

Thank you for your prayers.

Your sister and indeed your family (this sort of thing impacts everyone) have my prayers.

Also, your sister needs to get a good lawyer working for her ASAP. If her husband is like many another who decides he no longer loves his wife and wants out, he will probably try to hide his assets so he can to get away with paying as little alimony and child support as possible. There’s probably another woman at the bottom of all this–there usually is.

Yes, my sister is looking into finding an aggressive lawyer only because one of my sisters has had a bad divorce and also this sister earns more than her husband and she doesn’t want to pay her husband alimony.

Yes, we too think it is another woman. Sad, but true. Thanks for the prayers.

Our Father Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Thank you for all your prayers. My sister is actually going to spend the weekend with her in laws. They are devasted at all this. Their own son will not listen to them or let them even talk to them. When his mother went to talk to my sister’s husband, her son, he basically told her to shut up. He told her to tell everyone in the family that he doesn’t want to hear from anyone about this subject because he has made his decision and he will get a divorce and that it was final. She was crying. Today is his birthday and he won’t go see his parents, but Debbie is going over there with her kids to cheer them up. His mother’s birthday was two days ago and he didn’t call her. She is very upset.

Debbie is in survival mode and still defending her husband. She has not spoken anything negative against him. She did take down all family pictures and put them away and all pictures of the him and one of the boys, she put in the boys room. She still thinks this is not affecting the boys, but one of them asked my 12 yr. old niece if it was okay to be angry at his dad for leaving. So this is affecting the boys. My sister has always been one to sugar coat things and see the postive in things but divorce is not a positive and she will have to deal with this. She won’t talk to anyone in our family about the divorce for she doesn’t want us to think negatively about her husband. I don’t know what she is thinking. We already think that way of him because he was suppose to be this great Christian husband and father that she lead us all to believe for 16 years and now he wants out of their marriage and tells her he doesn’t love her anymore and treats his mother the way he did. He is not acting very Christ like at all.

Well, please continue to pray for her. We have a cousin who is a psychologist and thinks that Debbie is choosing to be in survival mode for the sake of the kids but when the reality of the divorce hits her, she will crash and be an emotional mess.
