My 16 yr old son will be going in to see his new dermatologist tomorrow.
The history: on July 3rd the pathology reportS came back on a mole he had removed. One saying he had superficial spreading melanoma the other saying he had severe atypia. After being seen at U of M and having another biopsy done they determined the mole was severe atypia and not melanoma. It is so rare for a kid to have severe atypia of a mole that he is now part of a case study. At that appt the doctors noted two other moles that needed to be removed because they looked suspicious. Tomorrow we go in to have skin mapping done and those two moles removed for testing.
Please keep him in your prayers that these tests come back normal. Thank you
