Prayers for our lost student

I work in a Catholic high school in regional Australia.
On the weekend, 22 of our students and 2 staff went on a ski trip to the Australian ski fields down near the NSW-Victorian border (google “Thredbo NSW” and you’ll get the picture).
As for many years in the past, it was billed as a weekend of fun and excitement.

About 1.30 on Saturday, a 16-year-old female student in the group skiied into a tree and died instantly.

The grief of her classmates is palpable. What her parents and two little brothers must be experiencing would be beyond description. Many of her teachers are also very upset.

She was a good student, a fine singer, friendly, outgoing and fun-loving. My involvement with her was mostly because I’m usually the musical director for our school musicals, and I’ve had a fair amount of involvement with her in that capacity. She starred as “Gertrude McFuzz” in our recent production of Seussical the Musical. Without any hyperbole at all, she was excellent: funny, talented, engaging–just like in real life.

And, in a second, she’s gone. Just like that.

I’ve been wandering around the school all day, trying to keep busy, not knowing how to react.

Anyway, if you can spare a prayer for Hannah, her family, her friends, her teachers, it would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

Praying for Hannah and family and friends.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon her. Amen.

May her family and friends receive the comfort of the Holy Spirit.

Hail Mary,
full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.

Eternal rest grant unto Hannah, O Lord. And let Your Perpetual Light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.

Dear Lord, we beg You, please draw the soul of Hannah to Your bosom, that she may rest in Your arms for eternity. Bring comfort and peace to her family and help them to turn to You in their moment of grief. In Jesus name we pray.

Praying hard.

Hansard, I’m so sorry. I hadn’t seen the news yet so didn’t know. I’ll be praying for Hannah and her family, her friends, her teachers. I’ll pray for all at Mass today, and you’ll all be in my thoughts and prayers.
Thredbo has such memories for we Australians, when our nation stopped for one trapped man and cheered when he was freed after so many days, but Hannah’s loss is an awful tragedy. For you all in your shock and grief, and especially for Hannah’s parents and little brothers, my love and prayers.

I am deeply sorry for the loss of this beautiful young student. May God grant her eternal rest and may His mercy cleanse her of the sins she may have committed on this earth. Dearest Jesus, sweet Savior and loving Redeemer, I pray that You and Your Blessed Mother will lead her, with an escort of angels, before the Father’s Throne in heaven. Please send Your Holy Spirit to console Hannah’s family, friends, and all who knew her as they grieve. Amen.

Dear Father in Heaven, bless Hannah’s soul, memory and let her rest in Your peace. Bless and console her family, her friends, her fellow students and teachers, bring them through this period of grief. I ask this in Christ’s name. Amen.

I am sorry for your loss Hansard.

Hannah her parents family and friends will be in my prayers. God Bless.
