Prayers needed to fight pornography addiction

#1

I need prayers to give me strength to overcome a pornography addiction. I have been going it alone with frequent rosaries, confession, and fasting, but I am struggling. Whatever prayers anyone can offer would be a great help.

I don’t have any professional advice to offer, but you’ll be in my prayers. This can be so difficult to deal with, and annoying, and physiologically, this part of our nervous system can have mind of its own, but I think you are in a good spot if you are recognizing that you are a weak spirit. As St Paul says, let yourself be weak, surrender your self more deeply, in love, to God, so that His strength can come to the fore. The human body is beautiful, and was meant to be so by God. He is not ashamed of it, and nothing can change that. But always bear in mind that beautiful as they are, they are persons, same as all of us, and that their beauty is meant to draw us to admire the person that they are, and the love they do, and that we can do for them. In the end, we must say NO to some things, and this is part of being mature. But we can trust that, as our Lord said, if we trust in God, and seek first His Kingdom, then all else will be given us besides.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen

Father, in Jesus’ name, please help all those who are tempted to porn and related sin. Please give them strength to resist to temptations against chastity.
Please urge them to avoid such occasions of sin as internet porn, each time temptation arises.
Please lead them to activities that honour You and benefit others and their own well-being.
Please surround their lives with Your light and love.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

I ask our blessed Mother, and their angels and patron saints to pray for their healing and for God’s loving will for their lives to be fulfilled.
St Maria Goretti please pray for them.
