Praying to the dead to a non Catholic

Hello, What do i say to non Catholics that say we should not pray to the dead because they are dead? They will want verses proof.

God Bless All

Mark 12:26-27

As for the dead being raised, have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the passage about the bush, how God told him, ‘I am the God of Abraham, [the] God of Isaac, and [the] God of Jacob’?
He is not God of the dead but of the living.

I think this article hits on just about every objection they will have.

Hope this helps,

God Bless

Of course we do not pray to the dead, that would be necromancy.

What we do is ask the living to pray for us. Those who have died in friendship with Christ are alive in heaven.

Thank you for your info
