Public Prayer on First Fridays

British Bishop urges Catholics to stop and pray publicly, if silently, on First Fridays.

This follows the recommendation that each Catholic and other Christians and everyone who believes in God frequently speak the Name of God and that of Jesus to others. The haters, pagans, and atheists are attempting to erase our God from the public forum. A very good way of combatting that is to make God and Jesus even more actively present.

Great idea!

“When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corners so that others may see them. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you."
