Question about prayer

I asked this question in another forum but I think it was the wrong place to ask- I offered a prayer to God and asked that he help me with something and that I would put extra money in the collection basket at mass. I sort of felt bad after I offered the prayer, like it was a bribe or something- but does anyone know if this is ever acceptable? I suppose I should consult my own conscience but would like to hear what others’ think. Thanks

It is acceptable, in my opinion, if your giving more money is not intended to be the cause of the answer of God, but as a way to thank Him through giving to the Church, like you would do with an ex-voto.
