Question?

Hi guys, I've been struggling with scruples for a while. What I've been wondering is is it a sin if I randomly think thoughts that are compulsive and would be satanic if thought on purpose.

The long approach in the Church is that those who struggle with scruples should have a "regular confessor" to direct them (and even give them some general principles for themselves).

So be sure to have a regular confessor.

For one to commit a mortal sin one needs grave matter, full knowledge and deliberate consent.

All sorts of thoughts can happen to anyone out of the blue and there be even no sin what-so-ever....

"Compulsive thoughts" of one who say has OCD are just that -"compulsive thoughts" (not saying you have OCD -- nor is scruples per se OCD)

Here is Jimmy Akin on such: jimmyakin.com/2005/04/a_crown_of_thor.html

Your confessor can guide you in your path....

Opinion: When your guilt has built up enough to where you even judge yourself and your thoughts as sins, its time to change something. When you judge yourself so hard, especially with something so uncontrollable for most people, you are going down a dark path.(meditation calms the mind, Jesus meditated everyday) The harder you are on yourself, when you think these supposed thoughts of sin, the more you will do it. If a thought says something you do not agree with, then it is a sin?. No, A thought cannot be a sin. lets look at what causes you to think a thought is a sin. Your Guilt and suffering are born from Written or spoken Words you perceive as Complete Truth. What is a Word? It is a symbol that We all agree to its basic meaning. Is it Actual Truth? It could be or it is not, or it might be, But whatever it is, that word is a perception of someone else’s truth.Just as Everyone has a different perception of this World, depending on our household growing up in, our experiences, good and bad, and what part of the world you grew up in. As a heart pulling example, What do you think your perception of the World would be If you are a 11 year old boy or girl living in Iraq this very Moment, and knowing the nightmare of a childhood they must have hadDo you think those children like Americans? those children saw the worst of us, Our Heartless War machine) which no child should ever endure for any reason!!And what is most parts of this World built on: Judgements(ourselves and others) Envy, Greed, hate, War.Love is a sideline. When someone feels those emotions everyday, That has got to be Hell. We need to accept, we all have a different perception of Truth. So WHo is right? Nobody is right or wrong. We need to respect and Honor others beliefs. We need to have a healthy doubt of what anyone says to us, as not being the complete and utter truth,Without the need to tell them you have a different perception, or even worse, tell them they are wrong! Even and especially what we say to ourselves. We all know we are hardest on ourselves. I know from Experience also. So just remember, love yourself! you deserve it. You obviously are a very caring person, with a conscience, dont use against yourself, use it for you. We do not always have to know the exact truth, Except for One. We all know the Only Truth That needs no words, Words cant even come close, because it is a feeling, and it is not something you can attain, or something to Find. It is something to Behold, to cherish and Appreciate. Once we can truly let go of all the negative, destructive Emotions(stemming from perceptions not)….All that is Left IS ……LOVE, and I mean LOVE for this whole Planet, and every living creature living with it, and how she Sustains us, each breath, every bite of Food, and Knowing our Place in the cosmos, and how insignificant we really are in the Scheme of the Universe…. and then ,…there is Peace…… read “the Four Agreements” wisdom from 2 thousand years ago, like the Bible, but with a different Perspective/perception, and there is nothing wrong with that…IW

I Struggle with the thought of How they View this world. The term “Cruel World” is something they know AS TRUTH. And what is their perception of Americans? Well, those children saw the Worst Part of US. What did they see? Could you even imagine an Invading Army, Bombing and Storming thru your Country, Your City, Your Street, YOUR HOUSE. They do not Imagine it, They Remember IT. Whatever their Perception Is, It IS their Truth, their Experience, their Nightmare of Our Heartless War machine, which no child should ever have Endure for any reason!
