Quotes from movie "Antonio Guerriero di Dio"

So, once more I watched the homily of St. Anthony of Padova from the movie “Antonio Guerriero di Dio” and I loved it. I do not know if St. Anthony actually spoke these exact words, but they sure touch one’s soul (like many of his speeches in this movie).

I said to myself: I’ll transcribe it and post it for my friends at CAF

So cos’e’ la vanita’. E ancora oggi me ne sto pentendo.
Tutto
non finira’ qui!
No!

I know what vanity is. And until this day I am repentant.
And it fills me of sorrow. And it freezes my soul.
I looked for God amidst the manuscripts in the comfort of a convent.
Then I wanted to elevate my name as the memory of a martyrdom in the lands of Africa.
Vanity.
Pride.
Presumption!
Io (me)
Dio (God)
Today I realize that a simple, humble consonant…changes everything!
I…i…am nothing.
God is everything!
I do not know where will my body peregrine through the world but…I commend my steps.
I am accompanied by the wind, the stars, the rain, the sun…
Do not be afraid!
Everything
will not finish here!
No!

One more, and I’d love for anyone to tell me if s. Anthony actually said any of these words before the Holy Father

What do you think of the Church, Anthony?

The Church belongs to God.
Whoever is in the God is not God.
Whoever is in the Church must do God’s will.
In many centuries, the Church forgot that Christ was born in a manger, forgot its poverty.

My suffering understands the sufferings of those who suffer.

I would change:

I know what vanity is. And until this day I am repentant.
I know what vanity is. And until this day I am repenting. (He has not stopped repenting)

I looked for God amidst the manuscripts in the comfort of a convent.
I searched for God amidst the manuscripts in the confort of a convent.

Thanks
